A lot of people have been asking about floating plants. Good news is water lettuce arrived at the store on Wednesday.
Water lettuce is the ideal plant to introduce into your pond or water feature. In warm bright conditions they multiple quickly by sending runner plants.
Water lettuce are not potted in soil they simply float on the surface of your pond. When establishing your lettuces in a pond with strong water flow you can tether them to rocks or wedge them into a corner of the pond.
The dense cover provided by the plant creates welcome shaded areas for the fish. Water lettuce will absorb large amounts of nitrates and phosphates from the water and help reduce blanket weed and green water algae issues.
We also have a good selection of lilies, marginal plants, baskets, liners and potting compost. You should find everything you need to plant out an impressive water garden.
One of the easiest ways to install a new pond is to use a preformed plastic pond liner. We recently extended our range of preformed ponds and stocked up on some waterfall sections.
All you need to do is excavate a suitable hole. Drop your pond in and level it on some sand. Then start back filling with sand. Keep adding some water to the pond as you are back filling. Keep checking your level and make fine adjustments if required.
You can conceal the pond edges either with planting or decorative stones.
We can always help with delivery and can make some great recommendations for pumps and filters.
The box sets are amazing value for money and will provide everything you’re likely to need.
Must dash, Matthew is busy stocking up the ponds with more fish from quarantine and over the weekend I will be up loading more Koi onto the website.
Take care everyone, hope to see you at the store soon.
