It Not Be Long Now.

Take a look at my YouTube video. Big pond with a constant leak needs some attention fast. This is part one of a short series of videos. Please help support the channel,  like the video, subscribe and post a comment.
I am really excited about the coming season. In a few weeks time we will be opening up our Koi ponds again and the new season fish will go on sale.

The new tanks that we are currently installing will give us the extra capacity we need to ensure we have one of the best displays in the UK. This year more than ever we will be able to offer a extensive range of high quality, value for money Koi.

If anyone has any special requests for more unusual varieties of Koi then please get in touch. We will be happy to source them for you during our upcoming buying trip.

You can always reach us by phone or email 0115 9397926, wendy@japanesewatergardens.com.

Whilst the work is underway the Koi pond area will remain closed off for safety reasons. However  if you would like to view the Koi in our main pond then please ask and we will happily escort you out and show you the remaining stock from last year.

The main shop will  remain open as normal and will not be affected by the renovations. If you are coming to the store be sure to make good use of the vouchers that I dotted around this email.

On my YouTube channel “Lee Calladine”   I have posted the first three videos in a short series where I am helping a customer to fit a new liner into his old concrete pond. The final installments are expected to be finished soon.

This year I will be uploading a variety of content. I know everyone finds it useful and I very much enjoy creating the videos. I am always looking for ideas for content and would be happy to receive requests.

The camera has been out during the work on the new tanks and I am expecting to have the first installments go out early February.

At home I have been considering installing a new Aquarium. No definite plans have been made yet but I am seriously thinking about it.

Over the years I have had several tropical community tanks but I never kept Discuss. I was always led to believe they were expensive, challenging and time consuming.

But this is a common misconception. It may be true that of sensitive wild caught fish but Stendker Discus that have been bred in Germany since the 1960s are robust and easy to keep.

They are the perfect choice of fish for the Aquarist who is willing to invest a small amount of time learning the basics of water parameters.

The Discus we have at the store are stunning! I can only imagine how good they would look in a landscaped tank.

I was thinking of keeping it simple. Just a micro gravel base, a limited selection of plants and some choice pieces of bogwood. As stated it’s just in the planning stage but it’s very tempting.

We still have a small stock of the ELECRO Engineering  Nano Cygent Heaters. They are a very small compact pond heater that are made to a very high standard.

We installed one on our pond last winter I was extremely impressed with its simple robust design.

If you would like to purchase one at the 2022 price then please do not delay.

See you all soon at the store,
